Focus on economic efficiency and rapid implementation
With a staff of around 700, the municipal clinical center of Neunkirchen was a pioneer in developing its role as a healthcare service center. For some years now the hospital has been pursuing a program of modernization with a special focus on high quality treatment. By consistently interlinking its in- and out-patient services, the hospital is able to offer excellent healthcare from a single source.
As an academic teaching hospital serving the Saarland, the clinic treats around 12,000 in-patients and 35,000 out-patients each year. With its long-standing time recording system no longer able to meet the growing requirements, the hospital opted to introduce an integrated solution for workforce management. One of the deciding factors in choosing the ATOSS Medical Solution was the speed and economic efficiency with which it can be installed. Following an intensive in situ analysis, the system was largely pre-parameterized, allowing the time and personnel requirements of piloting and implementation to be reduced to a minimum.
In the first stage by January 2013 time & attendance and scheduling modules will be switched from pilot mode to real-time operation. Via the integrated employee & manager self service function, staff can receive up-to-date details of their working time account balances and play an active role in the time management processes. The next stage will be to introduce a Kaba CardLink™ access control system at the municipal clinical center of Neunkirchen. This dispenses with the need for cumbersome and cost-intensive cabling, thereby saving the hospital money and providing staff with a modern, easy-to-use access system.
“It was important to us to introduce an integrated, powerful time and attendance management solution. In addition to the modern technology and the modular structure of the ATOSS solution, we were convinced primarily by the facility to pre-parameterized the system, enabling it to be rapidly introduced and ready for use,” commented Klaus-Dieter Hielscher, General Manager of the municipal clinical center of Neunkirchen.
