Founded in Berlin in 1936, BASLER today is an internationally successful, growing fashion house with glamorous evening wear and feminine collections for the modern, self-confident woman. In Germany, BASLER currently operates 30 monobrand stores, 50 concessions and seven outlets. The brand is represented in 54 countries around the world. The brand presence is being expanded on a continuous basis.
To achieve this ambitious goal, BASLER relies on agile, efficient processes and an organizational structure which is designed to maximize the value added chain. In this context, staff processes were also subject to review. The workforce management project was initiated throughout Germany after ATOSS conducted a comprehensive analysis of the processes involved. Reiner Unkel, CEO BASLER FASHION, explains: "Originally the issue of workforce management was not a priority on my personal agenda. The results of the process analysis conducted surprised me. I had not expected there would be so much potential."
A modern working time system is being introduced for the roughly 400 employees at the head office using self services and approval workflows. This creates the scope for work value adding activities. Strategically, however, the fashion house is focusing on the planning and managing of around 300 members of sales staff. In future, ATOSS Retail Solution will be used to forecast personnel demands in stores and outlets down to the minute enabling sales staff to be deployed in line with customer frequency. The aim is to reduce staff costs while increasing service levels and sales. The second phase of the project will see the workforce management solution rolled out internationally.
