About ATOSS
ATOSS Software SE is one of Germany’s most successful tech growth stories. As the market leader in Workforce Management Software, we help companies work more intelligently, creatively, and humanely optimizing the balance between profitability and people.
We’re a rare company: according to Handelsblatt (10/24), just 309 public companies worldwide achieved over 20% return on sales for ten consecutive years. Only two are based in Germany and ATOSS is one of them.
With 20 years of record-breaking growth, over €2 billion market cap, and listings in SDAX and TecDAX, we’re scaling globally and we’re growing.
If you’re ready to drive impact in a high-performing B2B SaaS environment, this is your chance to elevate your career.
The Person You are
At ATOSS, we hire for both character and skill, seeking individuals who embody resilience, a pioneering spirit, and the passion to grow.
We value those who:
Think like entrepreneurs – taking ownership, pushing boundaries, and driving impact.
Challenge the status quo – bringing fresh ideas and bold execution to the table.
Thrive in change – seeing growth as a lifelong journey, both professionally and personally.
The Role
As a Senior Software Engineer & Team Lead, you combine hands-on technical work with cross-team people leadership. You will actively work as a senior engineer within one of our Scrum teams shaping and evolving our enterprise product ASES in the Time & Attendance domain. In parallel, you take on supervisory responsibility for all Romanian engineers (~12 people) – based in Timisoara and Sibiu – across three Scrum teams. You and your team will help us roll out and improve our new time evaluation and wage calculation engine to bring value to our customers in different markets and industries. We are looking for someone who demonstrates strong ownership as a senior engineer, and the ability to guide, coach and grow colleagues across team and location boundaries.
Why this role is exciting, impactful and challenging
This role goes beyond individual delivery or single-team leadership. You and your team will work on a mature, mission-critical enterprise system with complex domain logic, long-lived codebases, and high expectations for correctness and stability. The work you and your team do directly supports the daily work and affects the incomes of hundreds of thousands of employees, making stability and reliability essential – and giving you and your team the opportunity to create real, lasting value at scale. Decisions often have long-term impact and require balancing technical quality, business constraints, delivery pressure, and the development of engineers across multiple teams and locations. Success in this role requires a strong sense of ownership, the ability to navigate complexity, and the willingness to take responsibility for outcomes and growth beyond your own team, not just code.
Team & Organization

3. Driving architectural decisions
• Lead and influence architectural decisions that align with business goals

• Confidently engage with internal and external stakeholders at different levels, including across teams and locations

• Demonstrated experience leading or supervising engineers, ideally across teams or locations
• 6+ years of professional experience in software engineering, including experience in a leadership or supervisory role
