Optimizing personnel processes along the entire value chain

Shift planning 4.0

Today’s volatile markets, shorter delivery cycles and increasingly demanding customers call for greater flexibility than ever before. Cost optimization alone is no longer enough in our digital and networked world. Working worlds 4.0 in logistics, transport and traffic – that means reconciling the interests of the workforce, the company and society.

These companies from the logistics sector rely on ATOSS. An excerpt from the customer list.

    Organizing just-in-time workforce management

Fluctuating business cycles and interrupted supply chains mean that workforce scheduling at the hub has to be adjusted weekly, daily and even hourly on rail, road and air. Thanks to digital workforce management, logistics companies ensure the pinpoint precision deployment of personnel. Flexible and cost-optimized.

The aim of our project was to establish uniform planning processes across all our locations. Today we are able to act more flexibly and cost-effectively. And we are benefiting from a great deal more transparency in all staff-related matters.

Demand-optimized scheduling based on real-time data

The online exchange with time and materials management systems and digital workforce scheduling is the prerequisite for flexible, order-oriented shift planning. Order data and time balances serve as a sound basis for planning. The better the database to be analyzed, the more precisely the personnel requirements can be determined.

    Rules-compliant 24/7 shift planning

The software schedules the required number of employees per workstation and shift. Working time balances, laws, collective agreements, company agreements, bonuses and minimum or maximum staffing levels are all taken into account. Simulations of different scenarios additionally increase planning quality. This guarantees 24/7 staffing – employee-oriented, cost-efficient and compliant with regulations.

The right qualifications for every job

Whether it’s distribution, contract or port logistics – with digital workforce management you can schedule employees from all areas efficiently and transparently. The qualifications required for a given workstation, such as forklift license, picker, putter or first aider, are automatically taken into account during planning. Push messages inform you when certificates are about to expire and need to be renewed.

Managing and steering personnel from the planning cockpit

Dispatchers always have an overview of their team's time accounts, qualifications and attendances and absences. The dashboard shows whether the staff capacities required for daily planning are available. The ability to plan across departments or locations raises staff flexibility while reducing overtime or idle time.

Individual working hours makes for motivated workforces

Thanks to self services, apps, preferred duty plans, shift exchange platforms and individual working time models, employees are gaining stronger influence over their working time – based on short- and long-term working time accounts. In this way, their life situations are aligned with their professional lives. Motivation and satisfaction trend upwards, fluctuations and sickness rates decrease.
