We value those who:
Think like entrepreneurs – taking ownership, pushing boundaries, and driving impact.

The Role
We are looking for a strategic and hands-on HR Business Partner to serve as a trusted people advisor to our Finance, IT, Legal, and Digital Transformation functions. This is a dual-impact role: you will drive forward-looking HR strategy at the business unit level while simultaneously owning operational HR excellence through a small HR Admin team. An ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in German labour law — a qualification as a German lawyer would be a distinct advantage — combined with a proven track record in fast-paced, technology-driven environments.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic HR Business Partnering
- Act as the primary HR partner for the Finance, IT, Legal, and Digital Transformation departments, aligning people strategies with business objectives and growth plans.
- Advise senior leaders and managers on the full spectrum of people topics: organisational design, workforce planning, talent development, performance management, compensation, and employee engagement.
- Identify capability gaps and collaborate with L&D to design targeted development programmes.
- Use HR data and people analytics to surface insights and guide evidence-based decision-making with business leaders.
- Support and drive change management initiatives, with particular focus on ongoing digital transformation efforts.
- Partner with business leaders in Digital Transformation, IT, Legal and Finance functions to ensure people structures, ways of working, and capability investments are actively aligned to ATOSS efficiency and performance goals.
Labour Law & Employment Operations
- Serve as the in-house expert on German labour law, providing sound, practical guidance on all employment-related matters including hiring, contracts, works council relations, disciplinary processes, terminations, and restructuring.
- Draft, review, and maintain all employment-related documentation in compliance with German law (e.g. employment agreements, amendments, Termination agreements, warnings, references/employment certificates).
- Manage and maintain a constructive, proactive relationship with the Works Council, including negotiating and concluding Operating agreements where applicable.
- Monitor regulatory developments in German — and broader European — employment law and translate these into timely policy and process updates.
- Ensure full compliance with data privacy regulations (GDPR) as they apply to HR processes and employee data.
- Drive automation and AI adoption across employment law processes — contract management, document generation, and compliance workflows — ensuring all solutions meet GDPR/BDSG standards and German regulatory requirements.
Team Leadership
- Lead, develop, and mentor two HR Admin professionals, setting clear goals, providing regular feedback, and fostering a collaborative, high-performing team culture.
- Oversee the quality and accuracy of all HR administrative outputs, including payroll inputs, system data integrity, and employee lifecycle documentation.
- Continuously improve HR admin processes — identifying automation and efficiency opportunities in partnership with HR systems and operations.
- Champion the adoption of AI tools and automation within HR workflows — from document generation and onboarding processes to people analytics and reporting
Key Requirements
- 10+ years of progressive HRBP experience, ideally within a SaaS or technology organisation.
- Exceptional knowledge of German labour law; qualification as a German lawyer (first and second state examination) is a strong advantage and highly valued.
- Demonstrable experience drafting and reviewing employment contracts and all related HR legal documentation in German.
- Hands-on experience working with a Works Council and navigating co-determination rights.
- Knowledge of European labour law frameworks is a plus.
- Experience evaluating and implementing AI & automation tools within HR/legal operations (e.g. contract management, document automation, compliance workflows.
- Proven people management experience, including coaching and developing direct reports.
- Digital-first mindset — proactively applies technology to reduce manual effort, scale team capacity, and raise service quality.
- Proficiency with HRIS platforms, people analytics tooling and a genuine enthusiasm for technology-driven HR processes
- Ability to leverage data and digital tools to drive decisions and process improvement.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into meaningful HR insights.
- Exceptional interpersonal and influencing skills — comfortable advising C-suite leaders as well as guiding front-line managers.
- Fluent in both German and English (written and spoken) — bilingual fluency is essential given the international nature of the organisation.
The ideal person will also bring:
- Experience supporting technology-driven business functions such as IT, Digital Transformation, or Engineering.
- Familiarity with European employment law beyond Germany (e.g. Austria, Netherlands, France).
- Experience in a scale-up or hyper-growth environment.
- Prior exposure to HRIS implementation or HR process automation projects.
