The Role 

We are looking for a passionate Engineering Lead to join our team in Munich. In this role, you will lead the teams responsible for developing our core engineering frameworks and our analytics and reporting capabilities. Working closely with experienced teams, you will shape our technological future and drive the modernization of our innovative cloud-based applications. You will lead international agile teams across Germany and Romania.

Key Responsibilities
 

Leadership & People Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of 10+ Software Engineers across multiple locations
  • Foster and continuously strengthen a high-performance culture built on psychological safety, constructive feedback, and continuous learning
  • Actively support the career development of team members along the ATOSS Expert and Leadership tracks
  • Identify and attract new talent in close collaboration with Recruiting

Technology Strategy, Standards & Engineering Excellence

  • Define the technological vision for the Framework and Technology domain and align it with the company and product strategy
  • Drive the modernization of the technology stack, for example by replacing model-driven code generation based on Xtext and Xtend
  • Drive the technical direction of the Analytics and Reporting domain for data insights, dashboards, and reporting capabilities embedded in the ASES product suite
  • Evaluate new technologies, make sound technical decisions, and take ownership of their implementation
  • Define and enforce technical standards, patterns, and best practices
  • Develop the technology roadmap in close collaboration with your manager, the CPTO, the architecture team, and Product Management
  • Drive the architecture and further development of the central technical frameworks of the ATOSS product


Key Requirements
 

  • Degree in Computer Science or a comparable qualification
  • 7+ years of professional experience in Software Engineering
  • Proven track record in software development in cloud-native application environments
  • Solid experience in leading engineering teams
  • Strong expertise in Java.
  • Strong expertise in Microservice Architecture
  • In-depth knowledge of frameworks and cloud technologies like IAM, Service Discovery, Kubernetes, Spring Boot, Kafka
  • Hands-on mindset with the ability and willingness to dive into technical details and code when needed.
  • Ability to use AI tools such as Claude efficiently and responsibly
  • Knowledge of security-related topics; familiarity with NIS and CRA is a plus
  • Knowledge of model-driven development, especially Xtext and Xtend, is a plus
  • Strong facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to teach, mentor, and coach team members with different levels of experience
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to assess team performance and drive continuous improvement
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken. German language skills are a strong plus.
