The Role

As a Cloud Ops Engineer in our Cloud Operations Services (COS) department, you get hands-on experience with CI/CD, automation, and cloud operations for the ATOSS Cloud Solution, across Azure and T Cloud Public. You build and maintain pipelines and scripts alongside senior engineers, and grow into deploying and operating cloud and AI services. You work closely with R&D, Cloud Architecture, and the other COS engineers.

Key Responsibilities

CI/CD & delivery pipelines

Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps for infrastructure, deployments, and operational tasks. Contribute to standardizing pipeline patterns across teams: build, test, deploy, rollback. Apply GitOps practices so changes are declarative and auditable.

Automation & scripting

Automate provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle operations with Infrastructure as Code (IaC). Write and maintain scripts and small tools (Python, Bash, PowerShell) that remove manual work from daily operations. Turn recurring manual tasks into pipelines, scripts, or self-service workflows.

Cloud architecture & service operations

Deploy and maintain Azure services and their counterparts on T Cloud Public, from managed platform services to compute and networking. Sit in on discussions about how new cloud services get consumed and integrated by product teams, and bring your own ideas as you gain experience. Contribute to reusable templates and patterns for product teams.

AI infrastructure & AI operations

Deploy and operate the AI services behind our products and internal AI initiatives, such as Azure AI Foundry and Azure OpenAI endpoints. Treat AI components like any other production service: provisioned through IaC, deployed through pipelines, and monitored. Help track capacity, quotas, and cost visibility for AI operations.

Security, cost & troubleshooting

Apply least-privilege access, secrets management, and cost guardrails across the pipelines and infrastructure you work on. Investigate pipeline and deployment issues with support from senior engineers, and document what you learn.

Key Requirements

• Some hands-on experience with CI/CD, ideally Azure DevOps. Understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and GitOps concepts.
•  Scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell, and an interest in automating repetitive work.
• Experience with or a strong interest in cloud services on Azure and/or T Cloud Public.
• Willingness to learn how to weigh trade-offs between different services and approaches.
•  Curiosity about AI infrastructure and AI services.
• Clear communication with technical and non-technical colleagues; a pragmatic, eager-to-learn mindset.
• Fluent English; German is a plus.

Nice to have / Plus

• Python and Django experience. Familiarity with Kafka or similar streaming platforms.
•  Basic exposure to AI platform concepts (model serving, vector databases, AI observability).
• Relevant certifications (Azure, CKA/CKAD) or coursework in progress.
